The Perseus CLI

Index a repository and query it without leaving the terminal. Results are ranked path:line hits from the same engine as the API.

Install

curl -fsSL https://perseus.computer/install.sh | sh

Authenticate

Sign in once. This opens your browser to authorize the CLI.

perseus login

Index your repo

Run inside a repository. Perseus indexes the working tree, including uncommitted files, and re-indexing is incremental, so later runs only upload what changed.

perseus index

Query

Ask in plain language. The default output is ranked path:line result text.

perseus query "where is the rate limit enforced for the webhook handler"

Flags

  • --answer: add an answer grounded in the retrieved code.
  • --json: print the structured result as JSON.
  • --files-only: bare path:line per hit.
  • -k <n>: widen the number of hits.
